Paris is not only the capital of love and gastronomy, it is also a cultural centre. Each season, museums and other institutions offer a variety of exhibitions. And the Compagnie Hôtelière de Bagatelle, with its seven boutique hotels located in the most interesting districts of the city, invites you to take full advantage of them.
Contemporary art
Let’s start with a new exhibition space that is emblematic of the Parisian attachment to contemporary art: the Bourse du Commerce – Pinault Collection, located a few minutes’ walk from the Chess Hôtel and the Roch Hôtel & Spa. From February to September, it offers a magnificent exhibition of photos, films and installations by current artists on the theme of climate change. Also a short stroll away is the Musée de l'Orangerie, where you can immerse yourself in the in the pivotal years of the artistic career of Henri Matisse, the 1930s. Finally, the Centre Pompidou presents two parallel exhibitions, one devoted to Serge Gainsbourg and the another to the Indian painter Sayed Haider Raza.
And a few essentials…
As always in Paris, there is something to satisfy all tastes and preferences this season. Thus, the Musée Jacquemart-André invites you to immerse yourself in the work of the Italian Renaissance artist Giovanni Bellini, with an exhibition of works drawn from all over Europe. The Musée d'Orsay continues its exhibitions in the form of a dialogue, this time bringing together Degas and Manet, while the Musée du Luxembourg focuses on the often forgotten Léon Monet, immensely supportive brother of Claude Monet. Finally, the Musée National Picasso is celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of the great painter's death in its own way by inviting designer Paul Smith to enhance the works in the collection.
Throughout Paris, the most exciting exhibitions are available to you. Choose one of the six boutique hotels of the Compagnie Hôtelière de Bagatelle to take advantage of this bountiful cultural offering!
